On the 2nd World Wushu Day, an annual event organzied by the Chinese Wushu Association, a series of celebratory performances were presented for Chinese Kungfu fans, citizens and tourists.

To develop Wushu into an Olympic sport, the International Wushu Federation decided that the first Saturday after August 8 would be World Wushu Day from 2018. On this day, various themed Wushu Celebrations are being held all over the world, aiming at attracting a global audience to approach, understand and love Wushu, and integrate the spirit and concept of Wushu into their daily lives.

Since this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 100th of the Chinese Wushu Association, this year’s celebration of World Wushu Day is quite auspicious. Accompanied by an opening song “My Motherland”, Zhu Hongyan, who was trained by the Chinese Wushu Association to be a Tai Chi champion in the World Wushu Championships, gave an opening performance. The following performances, such as Bajiquan, Miaodao, and Baguazhang, by famous Wushu masters not only exhilarated the audience, but also reflected the association’s inheritance and development of Wushu.
