Shanghai's top political advisory body concludes its annual session on Saturday afternoon at the Expo Center with a report on proposal works and a political resolution approved at the closing meeting.

Seven newly elected members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Shanghai Committee's Standing Committee made their debut to all local political advisers.

Li Qiang, Party secretary of Shanghai, congratulated on the success of the five-day Third Plenary Session of the 13th CPPCC Shanghai Committee on behalf of the Communist Party of China Shanghai Committee.

He said local CPPCC members worked very hard on fulfilling their duty and giving their advices, which made it an inspiring event.

He pointed out that this year the committee should ensure the central government's decisions and arrangements to be fully implemented in Shanghai. The committee should play a more important role in promoting democracy and enhancing unity.

It should gather wisdom and strength from various fields and talents. A smooth channel and improved platform should be provided to collect and report these ideas and suggestions, which can make the decisions more scientific, democratic and people-oriented.

The solutions and plans should be given with innovation. The members should think outside the box, have wider horizon, enhance their thinking and research on prospective important issues and work out effective ideas and solutions.
