With the inexpensive and relatively clean electric bicycles get increasingly popular in China, accidents not only happen on the road, but also when charging.

Shanlong Community in Jinshan District of Shanghai is the first communities which trial install collective charging equipment for electric donkeys. With 15 collective charging points in the bike shed, 150 electric bikes could be charged simultaneously.

Moreover, Shanghai is exploring making use of technology to eliminate fire safety hazards in electric bicycle charging. An intelligent charging system is employed to autonomously brake in case of fully charging, electricity leakage, etc.

Jiangwei Community in Zhangjiang county of Pudong District has introduced such a system.“The intelligent charging system makes our management more convenient and scientific.” said a head of the Residents’Committee.

According to Lu Wangping, a head of Chuansha branch of Pudong Firefighting Bureau, the intelligent charging system is a good exploration for the management of electric bicycles’security. It is expected to be widely utilized in the future.
