The Shanghai Museum Conservation Center, formerly known as the Cultural Relics Workshop of the Shanghai Museum, specializes in the restoration and conservation of bronze ware, ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, furniture, lacquer ware and other ancient artworks. There are now 17 cultural relic “doctors” working in the center, who devote themselves to bringing Chinese treasures a second life.
