Shanghai reported one newly confirmed local case of COVID-19 on Jan. 24, announced a municipal government press conference.

The local patient, aged 29, is a staff member handling import operations in the cargo area of Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

Group 8, Happiness Village, Fengcheng Town, Fengxian District has been listed as a medium-risk area.

As of 1pm Jan. 24, a total of 96 close contacts have been tracked down and are under medical observation. 488 environmental samples were collected, and nucleic acid tests all came back negative.
