Since its opening in 2019, the China-Mauritius Traditional Chinese Medicine Center has actively utilized the advantages and characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) and has been enthusiastically sought after by the African people.
To battle the epidemic, the China-Mauritius Traditional Chinese Medicine Center has been fighting side by side with the Mauritian government and people, and TCM has played a huge role. The center's efforts and contributions to the epidemic prevention and control work in Mauritius have been rewarded by President Prithvirajsing Roopun.
Due to the excellent medical services and remarkable clinical efficacy, the center quickly reached saturation of medical appointments. Experts sometimes had to work overtime to deal with admiring visitors.
Alan Ganoo, aged 70, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade of Mauritius, has been suffering from back pain for 10 years. After learning that a Chinese Tui Na doctor, named Zhou Nan, at the Chinese Medicine Center might be able to relieve his pain, Minister Ganoo came to him with the intention of giving it a try. Tui Na is a form of massage based on the principles of TCM.
After an examination, Dr. Zhou Nan gave the Foreign Minister a Tui Na treatment."Tui Na is amazing. Chinese doctors are really great", Ganoo said. Ganoo fell asleep "comfortably" during the treatment. He marveled that just one Tui Na treatment made his pain disappear."I must let more Mauritians know about the wonders of Tui Na," Ganoo added.
Soon afterwards, many famous Mauritians, including the Minister of Finance of Mauritius and the CEO of the National Bank of Mauritius, came to the Tui Na Center to discover the wonders of Tui Na, and to seek help from Chinese doctors to solve their ailments. There is a renewed boom in TCM throughout the whole country of Mauritius.
