Peking University, Pangoal think tank and Nizami Ganjavi International Center jointly organized a seminar named China's Role in International Relations: Prospects of the Belt and Road Initiative in Beijing on June 20-23.

Former political dignitaries from countries along the Belt and Road routes attending the event said that the initiative is an important international public goods being provided by China.

Madhav Kumar Nepal, former prime minister of Nepal, said the initiative will benefit all countries and Nepal was planning to organize a Belt and Road seminar in September to discuss how the South Asia region could become integrated into the initiative.

Noeleen Heyzer, former U.N. under-general-secretary, said the Initiative was, in essence, aimed at building interconnectivity among various peoples.

Hikmet Cetin, former minister of foreign affairs of Turkey, said it was a plan concerning world peace and will make great contributions to world peace. He said, "No country could act alone, as it was all about internationalization and globalization."

Zlatko Lagumdzija, former chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said, in the future, the initiative would be seen as the biggest peace plan of humankind.
