The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will publish a series of policies to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises to obtain financing in their exploration of the markets along the Belt and Road routes, the Economic Information Daily reports.
Experts said that small and medium-sized enterprises will have more business opportunities in tourism, catering and intermediary service industries in the countries taking part in the Belt and Road Initiative.
The ministry is reportedly conducting research regarding the practical difficulties that enterprises may be experiencing in financing, and plans to promote unsecured credit guarantee loans to help enterprises’ financing costs. Also, the newly amended Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Promotional Law is expected to be enacted by the end of this year.
The Chinese government has issued a host of supporting policies targeting the small and medium-sized enterprises this year. The upper limit of the annual taxable revenue for low-profit enterprises has risen from 300,000 yuan (US$44,600) to 500,000 yuan. The government is actively supporting innovation and startups and has set up special incubators and demonstration bases for them.
