Gao Shengmei, a Qibao High School senior student, finished runner-up in the half-marathon category of the 2006 Shanghai International Marathon on Sunday. It took her 75 minutes to complete the 21 kilometer course. As a major event of a nationwide physical fitness campaign, a total of 17,000 contestants from 41 countries and regions in Asia, Africa, Europe, America and Australia participated in the competition.
