3/10/2004 10:41

Construction for the world's first bridge with four railway tracks across the Yangtze River is under way near Qingshan in Wuhan, capital of central Hubei Province, official sources said yesterday. The Tianxingzhou Yangtze River highway and railway bridge will be the fifth highway-cum-railway bridge on the Yangtze, China's longest river. The suspension bridge will be 4,657 meters long. Construction is expected to cost 11.06 billion yuan (US$1.33 billion).
