Songjiang District People's Court has ordered an insurance company to pay
1,085,000 yuan (US$158,719) compensation to a widow whose husband was murdered
on a business trip.
The court was told Zou, the husband of the
plaintiff, surnamed Sun, bought a villa for 2.5 million yuan in March 2003 and
took out a mortgage of 1.72 million yuan. Zou, a partner in a mining company,
would have owned the villa in April this year if he paid off the mortgage as
planned, the court heard.
