The Shanghai World Financial Center has been fined 160,000 yuan (US$23,421) for holding a dinner party on its 100th floor without the approval of the Shanghai Fire Control Bureau, the bureau said yesterday.

As the Chinese mainland's tallest skyscraper and the third-tallest building in the world, the WFC faces stringent fire control requirements on its higher floors.
