The Songjiang District People's Court yesterday sentenced Wang Jia, 20, a Fujian Province native, to two years and three months for theft.

On March 16, Wang went to Songjiang University Town and stole a cell phone valued at 3,600 yuan (US$526) from a coat at a basketball court. Wang went on to steal four laptops, a cell phone and an electronic dictionary in different universities from May 19 to June 4.
