The first direct mail flight from Shanghai to Taiwan left Pudong International Airport early yesterday afternoon carrying 99 registered letters and a batch of ordinary post.

The new direct service for letters and parcels, express mail and postal remittances should speed up connections between both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
