Yangpu District police have detained a migrant worker surnamed Guo who allegedly killed his coworker after quarrelling with him over a minor dispute.

The killing occurred at a construction site on Shiguang Road in Yangpu District at about 8:39pm on Sunday. Guo, a Hubei Province native, had allegedly been drinking and quarreling with his coworkers while watching them playing cards. The suspect fought with the victim, surnamed Li, after they returned to their dorm and stabbed him in the chest with a fruit knife, police said.
