The Shanghai Municipal Information Commission today disclosed its scheme to improve the provision of information services ahead of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai.

Zhou Weidong, spokesman of the Commission, said it will devise and build a comprehensive information system that will offer services tailored to each Expo participant.

As already emphasized in this year's agenda, the commission will accelerate the construction of information infrastructures to further improve its wireless broadband services to allow people to have access to the Internet at all times and in all areas before 2010.

The commission will also focus on the development of reliable information systems, improve information security and establish a joint committee composed of officials from relevant government departments, which will offer export advice and undertake technological research for the event.
