Strong earthquake jolts southwest China
The earthquake measuring to 8.0 from 7.8 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province in southwest China at 2:28 pm on May 12 and affected eight provinces and municipality including Sichuan, Gansu, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Yunnan, Shanxi, Guizhou and Hubei.

Two mothers take their sons to visit an exhibition about the Sichuan earthquake at the China People¡¯s Revolution Military Museum in Beijing yesterday. The exhibition focuses on the rescue work conducted after the quake. It has received around 300,000 visitors since it opened on September 20. ¡ª Xinhua
