China's aid to arrive in Sri Lanka

China is sending relief goods worth 5 million yuan (around US$610,000) and
US$200,000 in cash to Sri Lanka to meet emergency needs after the incredible
disaster, the Chinese Embassy in Colombo said Tuesday. An Airbus 747 carrying
blanket, tent, sheet and foods including canned chicken, beef, and mutton is
scheduled to arrive Colombo at 4:10 a.m. local time on Wednesday from India,
where some relief goods were unloaded to help Tsunami-hit area in India. Sri
Lanka was hardest hit by earthquake-triggered tsunamis with the death toll of
over 12,000.
