Cracks on the windshield of a China Eastern MU5615 airplane from Shanghai to Ha'erbin, in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, forced the plane to emergency land yesterday midway in Dalian, Liaoning Province, Bandao Morning Post reported.

No injuries were reported from the emergency landing.

Reason for the cracks is unknown, the report said, citing Dalian aviation administration officials.

The officials arranged for the landing after receiving an emergency call from Qingdao aviation center of Shandong Province at 1:38pm.

They cleared a direct route between Qingdao and Dalian to shorten the flight.
