An earthquake of 7.7 magnitude rattled Indonesian province of Gorontalo early
today, forcing local residents to rush outdoors.
The epicenter of the quake, which struck at 01:02 am local time, was located
138 km northwest of Gorontalo city in a depth of 10 km, local meteorology and
geophysics station said.
The tremble forced thousands of people, including hotel guests, to rush
outdoors.
There was no immediate report of casualty or material damage.
