Photo exhibition brings charms of Latvia to Shanghai

Charms of Latvia Photo Exhibition held its opening ceremony at Henderson 688 in downtown Shanghai on Oct. 21, 2015.

Organized by Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and United Latvian Friendship Societies with Foreign Countries, the exhibition is staged here from Oct. 15 to 30.

H.E. Mrs. Ingrida Levrence, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to China attended the ceremony and told the reporter of Eastday.com that she hopes the photo exhibition will offer an understanding of Latvia and let more and more Shanghai people go to visit Latvia to discover its beauty.

The photos exhibited were taken by two famous Latvian photographers Janis Knakis and Juris Smalinskis. The contents range from nature, history, culture, architecture and folk custom of Latvia.

"I visited Latvia 4 years ago and was deeply impressed by its landscape of nature, scenery of countryside and hospitality of people. The photos here vividly remind me of these scenes again", said Mr. Yu Jianhao, Vice President of Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries at the opening ceremony.

Mrs. Sun Ping, Deputy Head of Jing'an District and Mr. Kaspars Rozkalns, Head of the Representative Office of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia in China also attended the ceremony.
