China’s Sun Yang won the gold medal with a time of 3 minutes and 41.38 seconds in the Men’s 400m free style at the 17th FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, on July 23, 2017.

It was the first medal for swimming events on that day. Sun claimed the men’s 400m freestyle title for third straight time.

Mack Horton from Australia got the silver in 3:43.85, and Gabriele Detti of Italy took the bronze in 3:43.93.

Sun has won the event in the two previous world events namely in Barcelona in2013 and in Kazan in 2015.

Sun will compete in the 200m, 800m, 1500m and other swimming events in the coming days.
