Measures taken to ensure safety of company canteens

At present, many enterprises and institutions have resumed operation. How to allow employees to eat in the canteen safely is a practical problem faced by many companies.

Some canteens have made obvious adjustments to the dining seats, so as to ensure the staff keep their distance and eat their meals separately.

Some others have also strengthened management and epidemic prevention for staff canteens.

A water affairs construction company in the city’s Lingang New Town restarted work on February 10. Since then, more than 100 employees have been back at work. In order to strengthen epidemic prevention, they have fully implemented a “separate meal” system in the canteen. The canteen workers will serve the meals for the employees, who are suggested to eat at their own work posts.

Due to the impact of the epidemic, the company has strengthened the management of personnel, goods and food procurement. “The company’s requirements on food safety have been stricter. While the traditional food suppliers have not yet returned to work, we chose a more efficient supplier through an online platform,” said Ms. Wu, the person in charge of the canteen.

In the face of the epidemic, the importance of food hygiene and safety has been raised to an unprecedented level, so the advantages of catering delivery on the Internet platform gradually emerged.

According to staff of Kuailvjinhuo, Meituan’s catering supply chain platform, also the online canteen procurement supplier of Ms. Wu’s company, to ensure distribution safety, the warehouse personnel should pass a temperature test 1 or 2 times a day before they enter the site. Their masks should be changed every 4 hours. The inside and outside of the warehouse and distribution vehicles are sterilized on a daily basis. All drivers need to wear a mask throughout the whole process of distribution.

Contactless distribution has been launched to reduce security risks. After the driver reaches the door of the merchant, they will call the merchant to pick up the goods at the door and determine the unloading location. After the merchant counts the goods and confirms that there is no error, the driver takes a photo before signing.

Mr. Shi, the person in charge of the canteen of Yuantong Express on Qipu Road, said that it is difficult for them to go to the surrounding traditional markets to buy raw materials now, so online purchasing tools are urgently needed to solve the dining problem of employees. “Using Kuailvjinhuo to purchase goods solves the tricky problem at present. At the same time, contactless distribution is also safer.”
