For many enterprises, an IPO is a highlight in their history. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, listing ceremonies will not be organized by the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), but it will instead arrange virtual ceremonies starting from February 23.

The listed issuer can choose a live or recorded broadcasting on SSE’s official website.

On February 24, Liangpinpuzi, a snack company registered in Hubei province, went public under the stock code 603719 on the main board market of SSE, making itself the first enterprise with a virtual listing ceremony.

The company’s stock price opened for trading at 17.14 yuan a share. “It is far beyond my imagination that we will become the first enterprise that goes public through a virtual ceremony on the SSE. Since the lockdown of Wuhan, Liangpinpuzi has also organized a supply line to support the anti-epidemic supplies for the frontline,” said Yang Hongchun, chairman of Liangpinpuzi.

Apart from the virtual ceremony, the SSE has also rolled out a string of supporting measures to provide more convenience for companies, including cutting down on the costs of an IPO and remote communication with listed issuers.
