Schott provides the primary mirror blank for the 2.4-meter Yunnan Gaomeigu Telescope, the largest single optical astronomical telescope in China. It also manufactures the mirror blank for the Guoshoujing Telescope, orLAMOST, which will be one of the largest large-aperture and wide-field optical telescopes in the world with the highest spectral acquisition rate once completed. LAMOST is one of the most powerful and important astronomical telescopes in the world.

Schott entered the Chinese market in 2002, and now takes Shanghai as the center, with about 1,000 employees in China. Its latest technology and products have benefited every aspect of Chinese people’s life, ranging from kitchen panels to mobile phones, from medical diagnostic fibers and slides to reading lights on airplanes.
