In terms of hydropower, GE has been developing rapidly. According to the company, GE has 25 percent of the global hydropower installed capacity. In addition to China’s huge share of its business, GE also provides products and technology for hydropower projects in Vietnam, Mexico, Canada, Switzerland and many other countries. GE’s hydropowerindustrialbase in Tianjin has become one of the leading suppliers of hydro power generationequipment and systems in China, and the Tianjin base has become GE’s largest hydro industrialbase in the world.
In the past 20 years, GE has accumulated a 20percentmarket share of the total Chinese installed capacity of large hydro equipment, and signed contracts for hydro turbines and generators covering 53GW. During the past 40 years of reform and opening-up, GE has participated in many major hydropower projects in China, including the Three Gorges, Xiangjiaba and Wudongde hydropower stations. For wind energy, GE has provided 46.7 billion kwhclean powerto China over the past decade, equivalent to saving 46 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. In 2016, GE’s Wind Energy Shenyang Training Center was opened, which is also China’s first professional training center for wind energy.
