Terminal Velocity(Jan.1)
A Boeing 747 lands in the middle of a desert. A young Russian woman is tortured by getting dunked in the aquarium of her apartment until she drowns dreadfully. Skydiving instructor Richard 'Ditch' Brodie (Charlie Sheen) takes on a new client, Chris Morrow (Nastassja Kinski), who on her first jump does not open her parachute and apparently dies.Brodie discovers that Morrow faked her death and that she is really a Russian spy trying to recover a shipment of gold. Brodie uses all of his skydiving skills to outwit the villains and to stay alive.

In Lebanon, Hezbollah militants escort producer Lowell Bergman (Pacino) to
Hezbollah founder Sheikh Fadlallah. Lowell convinces him to be interviewed by
Mike Wallace (Plummer) for CBS show 60 Minutes. In Louisville, Kentucky, Jeffrey
Wigand (Crowe) packs his belongings and leaves his Brown & Williamson
office, returning home to his wife Liane (Venora) and two children, one of whom
suffers from acute asthma. In the privacy of the hotel room, Wigand agrees to
interpret and explain the scientific tobacco-related documents, but stresses
that he cannot talk about anything else because of his confidentiality
agreement. Wigand talks to Bergman about the seven CEOs of "Big Tobacco"
perjuring themselves to the United States Congress about their awareness of
nicotine's addictiveness, and that the CEOs should fear Wigand. Later, Bergman
returns to CBS Headquarters in New York City, where he and Wallace discuss
Wigand's situation and the potential damage he could do to Big Tobacco.
Les Miserables(Jan.3)
Jean Valjean, a man arrested for stealing bread nineteen years previously, is released on parole. Since no one else is willing to allow a convict to stay the night, Valjean is kindly welcomed by Bishop Myriel to spend the night in his home. Valjean explains to Myriel that he is going to become a new man the following day. However, that night, Valjean steals Myriel's silverware and flees. Valjean is later arrested and brought back to Myriel, but Myriel tells the police that Valjean did not steal his silverware, but that he, in fact, actually gave it to him and also gives him his expensive candlesticks. Myriel then reminds Valjean of his promise that he was to become a new man that day.
Journey to the Center of the Earth(Jan.4)
Many years ago, the leading role's uncle took a large machine to the center of the earth and he hadn't come back yet. There's a monster living in the center of the earth who can speak! In addition, there're many other kinds of strange creatures there. Nobody knows the reason why the monster has the necklace with a pendant which belongs to the leading role's uncle. Several years later, the leading role and other researchers make a new large machine marching to the center of the earth.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Daniel "Danny" Kaffee, is an inexperienced U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps lawyer who leads the defense in the court-martial of two Marines, Private First Class Louden Downey and Lance Corporal Harold Dawson, who are accused of murdering a fellow Marine of their unit, PFC William Santiago, at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba, which is under the command of Col. Nathan R. Jessep.
The Marrying Man(Jan.6)
Charley Pearl is the heir to a toothpaste empire's fortune. He is a playboy who doesn't work for a living, spending his time indulging in hobbies like speedboats and fast cars. Charley is engaged to be married to the daughter of Lew Horner, a foul-mouthed, hot-tempered Hollywood studio mogul. Horner is concerned that Charley has no ambition of any kind and no apparent guilt about it. The studio chief warns Charley that if he should make Adele unhappy in any way, there will be hell to pay.
Hope and Glory(Jan.7)
Bill, his sisters Sue and Dawn, and his parents Grace and Clive, live in a suburb of London. After the war starts, Clive joins the army, leaving Grace alone to watch over the children. Seen through the eyes of 10-year-old Bill, the "fireworks" provided by the Blitz every night are as exciting as they are terrifying. His family does not see things in quite the same way as the bombs continue to drop, but their will to survive brings them closer together. The nightly raids do not provide the only drama, however, as his older sister, Dawn, falls for a Canadian soldier, becomes pregnant, and finding her life turned upside down, soon discovers the value of her family. The family eventually moves to the Thames-side home of Grace's parents when their house burns down. This provides an opportunity for Bill to spend more time with his curmudgeonly grandfather.

Told in flashback, it is the story of Katie Morosky and Hubbell Gardiner, who meet at college in the 1930s.Their differences are immense:she is a stridently vocal Marxist Jew with strong anti-war opinions, and he is a carefree WASP with no particular political bent. She is drawn to him because of his boyish good looks and his natural writing skill, which she finds captivating, although he doesn't work very hard at it. He is intrigued by her conviction and her determination to persuade others to take up social causes. They meet, romantically, for the first time on the night that the Duke of Windsor marries Mrs. Simpson.
The Age of Innocence(Jan.10)
Newland Archer is an affluent lawyer in 1870s New York, engaged to May Welland, a beautiful but conventional socialite. Newland begins to question the life he has planned for himself after the arrival of May's cousin, the exotic and sophisticated Countess Ellen Olenska. Ellen is a passionate lover who is seeking a divorce from her abusive husband, a Polish count, which has made her a social outcast and greatly displeases her family, who are afraid of scandal. As Newland grows to love and care more and more deeply for Ellen, having convinced her not to press for a divorce, he becomes increasingly disillusioned with the society to which he belongs and the idea of entering into a passionless marriage with May. The question at this point, is whether he will follow society's dictates, or those of his heart.
Fly Away Home(Jan.11)
In New Zealand, 13-year-old Amy Alden is involved in a car accident with her mother, which results in her mother's death. Amy is taken back to her new home in Ontario by her inventor father Thomas Alden, who later introduces her to his girlfriend, Susan. While Amy is initially hostile towards her dad and Susan, she eventually grows fond of both.
The Count of Monte Cristo(Jan.12)
Edmond Dants and his friend, Fernand Mondego, officers of a French trading ship, head to Elba seeking medical attention for their captain. Dants and Mondego are chased by English Dragoons who believe they are spies for the exiled Napoleon Bonaparte. The Emperor arrives and declares they are not his agents, and asks Dantes to give a letter to a friend in France. When the captain dies that night, they are sent on their way. At Marseilles, Dants is reprimanded by the ship's first mate, Danglars for disobeying orders. However, the shipping company's boss, Morrell, commends Dants' bravery, promoting him over Danglars. Mondego intercepts Dants'fiance Mercds and unsuccessfully tries to seduce her. When he hears of Dants' promotion, Mondego realizes that Dants will be able to marry Mercds sooner than expected.
Birdy(Jan.13)
Two teenagers, Birdyand Al, become friends at school and serve in Vietnam. Birdy already has a disturbing fixation with birds and his Vietnam experiences push him over the edge: when he returns from the war, he is sent to a mental hospital for assessment and his friend Al stays with him to try to reach him before its too late and he'll be separated from Birdy, leaving him alone and lost inside his mind. As the story develops, many flashback scenes show their life together as teenagers in 1960s America as well as their developing friendship and views of life.
As Good as It Gets(Jan.14)
Melvin Udall is a misanthrope who works at home as a best-selling novelist in New York City. He suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder which, paired with his misanthropy, puts off the neighbors in his Manhattan apartment building and nearly everyone else with whom he comes into contact. He eats breakfast at the same table in the same restaurant every day using disposable plastic utensils he brings with him due to his pathological germophobia. He takes an interest in his waitress, Carol Connelly, the only server at the restaurant who can tolerate his behavior.
