Our Lady of the Rosary Church is located near the juncture of Pudong Avenue and Yuanshen Road. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Xu Guangqi's son Xu Ji and his Great grandson Xu Zan set up the church under the auspice of the Fu family. In 1890, the 16th year of Emperor Guagxu's Reign of the Qing Dynasty, a church of western style was built, which was usually called Lao Tang (old church). In 1918, the French missioner Qi Ruyun urged Christians of the Fu family to donate the land of more than 10 mu before Lao Tang (old church), and raised money to build this church, with the name Xin Tang (new church). Rosary Madonna is housed in the church; hence it is also called Rosary Church. The Rockery of Our Lady of Lourdes is in front of the church, to the west of which is the auditorium housing 600 people. The bell tower in the east measures 23 meters high. In conformity to the traditional arrangements of Catholicism, the church has a white sacrificial altar with Rosary Madonna on it, and one small alter in each the two wing-halls. To the east of the gate is a 2-story building of western style, providing accommodation.
