The Work Safety Committee of China's State Council issued a notice to ask Hebei province to carry out an investigation of an iron mine flooded accident early this month, according to the Ministry of Emergency Management on Wednesday.

According to preliminary investigation, fourteen people died and one remained missing after Taoshuyu iron mine was flooded on September 2, in Qianxi county of Tangshan city, Hebei, according to the notice.

A false report was also found.

The committee has required Hebei to carry out an investigation, including the cause of the accident, how it happened, and the course of the false report. It also required the province to offer a solution to handle the aftermath of the accident.

Before closing the case, the report will be published to the society by Hebei after being reviewed by the committee.
