An exhibition in commemoration of the 100 birthday of Xiao Shan, Ba Jin’s wife is held in the Former Residence of Ba Jin on January 8.

Born in Ningbo, Zhejiang on January 8, 1918, Xiao Shan is a writer who has written several travel sketches themed at anti- Japanese war. She also translated some western works likeFirst Love by Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev, An Anthology of Berkin's Novels by Alexander Pushkin, etc.

Apart from the translated works, unfinished manuscripts and unpublished ones are exhibited for the first time. Works like Autobiography of Xiao Shan, Wang Ping and Su Qiang which record life in the new society during the 20th century are precious materials preserved.

On the exhibition wall, old pictures of Xiao Shan, her family photos, daily items such as Shanghai bus monthly ticket, handbag, coat, family letters, etc. lively present the past life to audiences.
