On July 11, Gu Jun, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, revealed in the program "Shanghai livelihood interview 2022" that Shanghai will continue to encourage domestic and foreign brands to premiere global new products, opening their first China stores and setting up corporate headquarters in Shanghai, focusing on deepening the construction of the global new-product premiere site.
Gu Jun said that a total of 1,078 first China stores of various brands were opened in Shanghai in 2021, including 14 first global stores or first stores in Asia, and 167 first stores on the Chinese mainland. In addition, more than 3,000 international and domestic brands held their new product debut, first show and first exhibition in Shanghai in 2021.
The Global Fashion Industry Index and Fashion Week Vitality Index show that Shanghai Fashion Week jumped from sixth to fourth in the world, becoming an effective carrier for Shanghai to build the capital of brands, designs and fashion, and help Shanghai to promote the construction of an international consumption center city.
