Denmark’ richest man lost three children in the Sri Lanka terror attacks
By:Lu Yukun  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2019-04-23 20:29

Anders Holch Povlsen, the richest man in Denmark, has lost three children in the Sri Lanka terror attacks, as confirmed by his spokesperson on Monday. Anders Holch Povlsen, 46, is Scotland's biggest private landowner and the sole owner of the clothing chain Bestseller, which owns such well-known fashion brands as Vero Moda and JACK & JONES. He is also the majority stakeholder in British e-commerce firm ASOS.com.

Danish media said that Anders Holch Povlsen and his family were visiting Sri Lanka over the Easter holiday. It was reported that hotel guests were targeted by two suicide bombers as they ate breakfast at the seafront Shangri-La's Table One restaurant in Colombo. Anders Holch Povlsen, his wife Anne Storm Pedersen and their four kids were believed to be at this hotel when the deadly bombs went off.

A Sri Lankan government forensic crime investigator said an analysis of the attackers' body parts showed they were suicide bombers. He believed most of the attacks were done by a single bomber, with two at Colombo's Shangri-La Hotel.

The couple has three daughters and one son, Agnes, Alma, Astrid, and Alfred.  But the 46-year-old billionaire and his wife have not said which of their three children died in the bombing and it was unclear if the parents and the fourth child were injured.

Just Four days before the devastating attacks, one of Povlsen's children, Alma, shared a holiday picture of her siblings Astrid, Agnes and Alfred next to a pool lined with palms.
