【编者按】今年是中美建交40周年。岁月无声，光影留痕。7月3日，《跨越太平洋的交流与合作——上海纪念中美建交40周年》图片展在上海市档案馆（外滩馆）正式开幕。300余幅精心甄选的照片，记录了上海与美国各地方的交流合作进程。从这天起，我们挑选部分展出的档案照片，为大家讲述照片背后的故事。让我们一起重温过去，立足现在，展望未来。

　　2018年6月，经上海市人民对外友好协会牵线搭桥，上海在加利福尼亚州尼克松总统图书馆设立海外第156个《上海之窗》。

　　With Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries acting as go-between,Shanghai establishes “Window of Shanghai”, a book donation program, at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in California, its 156thoverseas.(2018)

　　《上海之窗》项目始于2002年，通过向境外图书馆及藏书机构捐赠由国内出版的图书，全方位地向境外读者介绍中国历史和文化。

　　截至2018年10月31日，上海图书馆在全球六大洲72个国家和地区的168家机构开设了《上海之窗》，共计捐赠纸质图书近12万册。

　　除了尼克松总统图书馆，上海还在美国南加州大学东亚图书馆、马斯卡廷市社区大学图书馆、夏威夷大学马诺阿校区图书馆、加州大学伯克利分校斯塔东亚图书馆、肯塔基大学图书馆、哈佛燕京图书馆、密歇根州立大学图书馆、休斯顿公共图书馆、马斯卡廷市马瑟公共图书馆、赛珍珠国际基金会、美国亚洲文化中心、芝加哥大学图书馆、加利福尼亚大学洛杉矶校区图书馆等20家美国图书馆中设立了《上海之窗》。

　　Launched in 2002, the “Window of Shanghai” program, through donating books published in China to overseas libraries, introduces Chinese history and culture to overseas readers.

　　By October 31, 2018, Shanghai Library had opened “Window of Shanghai” at 168 institutions in 72 countries and donated 120,000 books.

　　Aside from the Richard Nixon Library, Shanghai has also opened “Window of Shanghai” at 20 other U.S. libraries, including East Asian Library of University of Southern California, Muscatine Community College Library, Library of University of Hawaii at Manoa, East Asian Library of University of California, Berkeley, Kentucky University Library, Harvard-Yenching Library, Michigan State University Library, Houston Public Library, Muscatine Public Library, The Pearl S. Buck Foundation, Asian Cultural Center, Chicago University Library and Library of University of California, Los Angeles.
