BEIJING - Farm produce prices in China dropped slightly last week, data from the Ministry of Commerce showed.

From Oct 5 to 11, the overall price of farm produce fell 1.1 percent on a weekly basis.

The wholesale price of pork declined 3.1 percent to 44.13 yuan ($6.55) per kg, with the prices of beef down 0.1 percent and the prices of mutton up 0.2 percent.

Poultry-related products saw a drop in prices, with the wholesale price of eggs down 0.6 percent.

The average wholesale prices of 30 types of vegetables went down 0.2 percent from a week earlier, the data showed.

Food accounts for about one-third of China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation.

China's CPI rose 1.7 percent year-on-year in September, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
