The fifth China International Import Expo will attract a broader number of nations, regions and international organizations compared to previous edition, officials said on Tuesday.
Scheduled to be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, the event will see a total of 145 nations, regions and international organizations as well as enterprises from 127 countries and regions participate, outnumbering that of last year's, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau during a news conference on Tuesday in Shanghai.
Up to 284 companies that are either on the Fortune 500 list or industry leaders will be present at the corporate exhibitions, and hundreds of new products, technologies and services will be exhibited at the six major exhibition areas.
Gu Honghui, deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai municipal government, said the China International Import Expo is an important driver in China's modernization and opening-up.
