From:ChinaDaily  |  2022-11-07 13:50

EY, one of the major global accounting and consultation firms, launched a number of innovative products and services at the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE), demonstrating its commitments to further exploring the market.

It is the fifth time for EY to attend CIIE, and this international industry exhibition is providing the company with the opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to exploring emerging opportunities in the metaverse, create sustainable development through collaboration, and contribute to the sustainable innovation and green transformation of the economy and society.

"As China enters a new stage to promote high-quality development, CIIE is of great significance to enhance innovation in China's economy and sustaining economic growth. EY will continue to contribute in new ways through CIIE during this new transformation in the new era," said Jack Chan, EY China Chairman and EY Greater China Regional Managing Partner.

"With China's strong determination to opening-up, we will continue to demonstrate our unwavering determination to serve the Chinese market, and will join hands with the community with our increasingly innovative spirit and sustainable future-oriented strategies that will contribute to quality development," he added

Given the pressing need of Chinese enterprises to seek strategy transformation toward sustainability, ESG (environmental, social and governance) is being integrated by an increasing number of enterprises in their regular growth strategies, and ESG information disclosure is also becoming a major trend.

At this year's CIIE, the EY ESG Management System will make its worldwide debut as a part of the EY ESG Investment Solutions Series in a bid to showcase the latest EY innovative practices in ESG and sustainable development. As a global flagship product in the ESG management area, the system incorporates the two themes of "dual carbon" goals and digital transformation– and offers one-stop solutions to help companies improve their ESG management standards and achieve a sustainable and green future.

"CIIE is an important window to witness China's greater opening-up measures. It is also a key bond to serve the dual circulation development," said Michael Bi, EY Greater China Markets Managing Partner. "As one of the professional organizations that has been deeply rooted in the Chinese market for more than half a century, EY is focusing on two major topics this year – the metaverse and sustainability development. We are sharing a number of industry solutions in the metaverse and digital twin solutions segments, and we are determined to help enterprises accelerate their transformation process".

During the full-scale drive of digital transformation in China, EY highly values development opportunities in metaverse. The company strives to explore this virtual world in the future, and has been actively attempting metaverse extension and putting it into practice.

Metaverse, a carrier that connects the real and virtual worlds, is changing the operation of the existing world with its constant innovation and self-evolution. Up till now, the global EY organization has assisted many clients around the world to expand their metaverse-related businesses. Based on the current technology system and technology stack, EY is actively contributing to improve the technology system of the metaverse. It will also continue to explore the metaverse to create future-oriented digital industries while focusing on key areas to foster the development of metaverse-related industries.

In CIIE this year, EY will share its latest unique observations of the development of the metaverse, with focuses on experiences, technologies and application scenarios. EY will also explore the interactive digital world where the virtual world collides with reality using "digital cloning" technology, and enable experiences of the new modern forms of redefined economy, society and governance.

Talking about the experience of participating in the CIIE, Patricia Xia, EY China Central Managing Partner, said that "From 2018 to 2022, we witnessed the increasing impact of CIIE, and its spillover effect keeps growing which makes the participants highly satisfied".
