NANJING -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed efforts to apply the new development philosophy and foster a new development pattern to advance high-quality and sustainable economic and social development.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks during an inspection tour in East China's Jiangsu province from Thursday to Friday.
