How do people shape space to form different landscapes? How do space, in return, reshape people's visions and mentality? These questions have consistently intrigued Qu Jianxiong, a contemporary artist and a professor at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
At his ongoing exhibition at Tianjin Binhai Art Museum, titled Film, Qu tries to build a link between space and his audience. In a recreated interior of a cinema, Qu uses photos, computer-generated images, light installations and ink works to immerse viewers in a mystic, interactive atmosphere. The exhibition ends on May 29.
