Shanghai, March 13- Following the wonderful Celtic music and artists’ contagious show, I bet you will be brought to the remote Ireland- a mountains-surrounded and picturesque "Jade Island" with deep humanistic connotations.
Ireland, Land of Music- Cnoc Na Gaoithe Play Celtic Sounds was held by Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Consulate General of Ireland in Shanghai and Foreign Affairs Office of Pudong New Area, Shanghai this afternoon at Grand Theater, Pudong Youth Center, attracting around 400 parents and children’s participation.
Infused with Irish most traditional and distinctive culture, the band named Cnoc Na Gaoithe, which is composed of nine young Irish musicians and dancers, is representing the highest level of Irish traditional art.
The performance led audience on the Irish music journey by the form of folk music, song and dance. The most authentic and dynamic performance of Irish music, from ancient tunes and dances and Irish traditional songs to enthusiastic dance works, were provided for Shanghai audience.
“Lots of cultural exchanges and cooperation is ongoing, but we still can expand even further,” said Therese Healy, the Irish Consul General in Shanghai during the interview with reporter from Eastday.com.
Healy mentioned that now in Ireland, Chinese New Year is becoming bigger and bigger in every passing year, and she hopes to strengthen the future cooperation in the fields of fine arts, visual arts and literature between two countries.
According to Healy, the band will have special shows next Saturday (March 19) from 11 a.m. to 12 o 'clock at Music Corner (the Subway Transfer Hall of People's Square Station).
