Arena of Valor’s offline debut in Yangpu
By:Fu Yifei, Wu Qiong  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2019-07-26 14:34

On July 26, a large immersive exhibition tour of the videogame “Arena of Valor " (also known by its Chinese original name “Honor of Kings”) will start in a shipyard in Yangpu district in Shanghai. As the largest cultural merchandise experience exhibition in the world, it uses real-world construction technology to integrate light and shadow.

"Valor's World" restored with original characters

In the exhibition, you can see very large red crystals recreating a real-life canyon that appears in the game. The set dressing - including a vivid wild monster, a Daji who is sneaking around, and a 6-meter-tall movable machine over the river -creates an immersive experience for the visitors.

In the exhibit area called Hero’s Land, the story behind the popular characters in “Arena of Valor” has been recreated and is shown to the public with the help of technology. As the feeling of the heat in Hellfire Space is not simply a visual experience, warm moist air greets you as soon as you step into the space; Luban No. 7 also comes out of the virtual world and chats with everyone in the “Luban Laboratory”. The “Exploring Valor’s World” exhibition will bring visitors a real sensory experience, as they can see and touch the sets – it’s like a dream come true from the visual to the physical.

Emphasizing the leading role of cultural merchandise

Long Zonghai, Copyright Department Director of Tencent’s Interactive Entertainment, introduced that Tencent's cultural and creative concept is an important strategic cut-in point to tap the potential of cultural merchandise and enhance its value.

According to Long, the “Exploring Valor's World” exhibition is an important attempt to realize the focus on space experience. It aims to establish an industrial standard for cultural merchandise exhibitions with the most cutting-edge technology.

Two-year preparation for top experience

As the organizer of the “Exploring Valor's World” exhibition, Liu Wenbo, CEO of Stream Interactive Entertainment (a culture development company in Shanghai), told the story behind the exhibition. It took more than two years for his team to create the show, during which they encountered many difficulties - more than 50 changes in creative direction, more than 100 alterations of character models, and more than 200 drafts of scenario design. In a manner of speaking, the experience exhibition is the sharpest sword yet forged by the team.

However, the exhibition is only the beginning, said Liu, believing that there will be more follow-up exhibitions of “Arena of Valor” nationwide.

Online pre-sale of the exhibition tickets is now available on Maoyan, Bilibili, More Tickets, Damai and other platforms.
