Xu Zecheng, one of the winners of the award was present at the Shanghai Book Fair today, selling his new book Starting from An Egg. The writer, apparently already aware that he had won a prize, seemed to be in a good mood. Tonight, he will also attend the Night of Poetry, one of the events of the Shanghai International Literary Week.

The Mao Dun Literature Award is a prize for novels, established in the will of prominent Chinese writer Mao Dun (for which he personally donated 250,000 RMB) and sponsored by the China Writers Association. Awarded every four years, it is one of the most prestigious literary prizes in China, and was first awarded in 1982.
