Cultural creative products ready for tourism festival

Thousands of cultural creative products will be on shelves for the coming 2019 Shanghai Tourism Festival.

More than 1,900 items from 78 cultural institutions, including museums, art galleries and libraries, have been collected by a platform named “Cultural Creative Shanghai”. It is an integration of cultural creative products from Shanghai, China and the world at large, as quality goods from the National Museum of China, the Xi’an Museum and the British Museum can also be found here. 

(The 2019 Shanghai Tourism Festival will take place from September 14 to October 6.)

The platform plans to open 10 brick-and-mortar stores across Shanghai. The first store was opened in the China Arts Museum in early August, attracting visiting tourists from all over the world. During the tourism festival from September 14 to October 6, people will see more stores around the city’s landmarks and populated areas, such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai Tower, Dashijie, Wukang Building, Qibao Old Street, airports and train stations.

This May, over 50,000 people visited the Cultural Creative Expo of the 12th National Art Festival held in Shanghai. Sales of products during the expo reached 34 million yuan, signaling the huge potential of the cultural creative market. In this context, the platform of “Cultural Creative Shanghai” was created to promote the R&D of cultural creativity and meet citizens’ increasing demands for cultural creative products.
