At the Alibaba 20th Anniversary Party, Jack Ma used a rock star show to bid farewell to his position at the company and welcome his next stage of life.

The party was held on September 10 when Ma officially resigned as chairman of Alibaba. With other partners of Alibaba, he sang a song titled “In Full Bloom of Life” while dressed like a rock star. Wearing dreadlocks, sunglasses and a leather jacket, he also played bass, wowing the audience.

The day was also the entrepreneur’s 55th birthday. At the party, he told the audience that he had waited 10 years for this day. “I did not expect it to come so quickly on such a nice day,” said Ma.“Let’s meet in another arena.”

Zhang Yong, who took over as chairman and CEO of Alibaba, also displayed his singing talent by performing a song with Ma.

“Thank you, Alibaba. Thank you, Jack,” said Zhang in his salute at the company’s celebration party. “The best way to thank the past is to create the best future together.”
