More than 20,000 plastic products of different shapes and sizes including beverage bottles, laundry detergent bottles and plastic toys collected by more than 5,000 primary and middle school students in Shanghai have been used to form a huge pontoon, enlightening people to reflect on reducing damage to the earth. 

Each of the plastic items has its own file to show the information of the donor and also his or her view on the plastic waste issue.

Besides the 17-meter plastics installation “Huge Ring”, a photo exhibition and interactive activity were also held in the public welfare visual art exhibition presented in Greenland Being Fun, a shopping mall in Huangpu district, on September 22. Themed around reducing plastics, the exhibition aimed to arouse the public’s attention on the grim situation of marine plastic pollution through art and call on the whole society to reduce excessive consumption which creates piles of plastics.
