New Shanghai specialties to be served for global guests at expo

For foodies, the upcoming second China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a delicacy feast. Famed as a "world kitchen" and "global supermarket", the exhibition will present specialties from both home and abroad like the "world’s largest hot pot", handgrabbedpancake, fried Turnip pie, Singapore Durian and French Cider.

At the Shanghai Specialties Hall, 439 kinds of food will be available for visitors to choose from. Besides the time-honored Shanghai brands of the Xing Hualou Group and Yuyuan Mall, there are some others which will be appearing in the hall for the first time.

Food like salted duck, boiled chicken slices, spareribs with rice cake, handgrabbedpancake and fried turnip pieare all new choices at this year’s expo. A new style of spring rolls especially produced for the expo by the Shanghai old brand Lang Sheng Chang has received high praise from foreigners based on trial sales.
