Coatings manufacturer to spread public welfare to Asia

A summary meeting to celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Color, Way of Love”, a public welfare program initiated by the Nippon Paint (China) Company, was held in Shanghai on November 28. At the meeting, the initiator announced that the project will be expanded to Asia along the “Belt and Road”.

Starting frompaintingschoolsandbuildingclassroomsandtoiletsin 2009, but later carrying out more activities like providing art training courses for rural teachers and organizing university students to support rural education, the project has benefited nearly 90,000 children in the past decade.

As of 2019, altogether 342 Hope Elementary Schools have been painted, 319 "Nippon Happy Art Classrooms" have been donated, 350 rural teachers have received professional art training, and more than 15,000 college students from 78 universities have participated in rural education support. Through this scheme, more than 80 wall painting artists from home and abroad have created 120 wall paintings in urban and rural elementary schools.

Ever since the program was started, various parties including dealers, upstream suppliers, enterprises, non-profit organizations, artists, designers and college volunteers have joined in. According to Zhong Zhonglin, President of Nippon China, the project has attracted 56 partners such as the China Youth Development Foundation, Jack Ma Foundation, Uniqlo, Canon, Boeing, CapitaLand, BASF, DuPont and Baosteel. Together with the involved artists they have not only given back to society but also beautified it.
