As an increasing number of people go back to work and school, nucleic acid testing for individuals is now available in 50 organizations (including medical institutions and third-party agencies) across Shanghai.

Considering the growing need for nucleic acid testing, the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission said on April 22 that individuals and employers can make reservations and take nucleic acid tests at their own expense.

Normally, the results will come out within 24 hours.

As the only hospital in Yangpu District designated for the testing, the Shanghai Yangpu District Central Hospital has seen a surge in reservations from individuals. Each day, the hospital staff receive around 150 consultation phone calls from shopping mall staff, car salesmen and catering service personnel, among others. From April 13 to 23, 128 samples from individuals have been collected for nucleic acid tests.

People can pick up their report of the testing result on site or receive it by post.
