Shanghai Qingpu Outlets to sell online on Double 11
By:Zheng Qian  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2020-10-23 15:20

The first double 11 shopping festival in the post-pandemic era is seen as a key to fueling domestic demand. To drive consumption amid the economic lows, physical stores in Shanghai are now swarming to capture business opportunities from the annual grand shopping craze.

Qingpu Outlets affiliated to Shanghai Bailian Group is one of this year’s new online retailers. The largecompany, with widespread department stores, shopping malls and outlets across China, announced on October 21 that it will cooperate with Alibaba to create new retail projects in the coming online shopping festival.

An official Bailian Outlets shop has opened on Tmall, offering designer brands such as MK and Versace Jeans Couture as well as sports brands like Nike and Adidas. It is the first outlet shop on Tmall.

Outlet business has been one of the fastest recovering businesses as the pandemic in China has come under control. The business performance of Bailian outlets achieved a double-digit year-on-year growth from May to September and over 30% year-on-year growth during the Golden Week.

“Via the third-party platform like Tmall, international brands in the Bailian Outlets shop can reach more cities to meet the upgrading consumption demand of people in third and fourth-tier cities,” said Zhang Shenyu, executive deputy general manager of Bailian.

Besides the Qingpu Outlets, 6 other outlet shops in Wuhan, Wuxi, Nanjing, Jinan and Changsha will also offer attractive discounts.
