An aircraft industrial park was unveiled on October 23 in Lingang New Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
As one of Shanghai’s 26 sector-specific industrial parks, it is located in the Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone, south of Pudong International Airport.
So far, 22 projects with a total investment of 20 billion yuan have been confirmed to settle in the park, covering aviation R&D and manufacturing, aeronautical tooling and interior decoration, and aircraft financing and leasing.
As projects are being announced, the infrastructural construction of the park is also being accelerated. R&D offices and professional plants covering 120,000 square meters of building area will be completed in batches from 2022 to 2023, so as to meet the demands of the residing clients.
With the foundation laid by COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) and AECC (Aero Engine Corporation of China), by 2025, the park’s industrial scale will be 50 billion yuan. By 2035, it will surpass 200 billion yuan.
With the park’s development taking the lead, an aviation industrial cluster will be further cultivated in Lingang New Area.
