A blue alert for a coming cold snap was released by the city’s meteorological bureau at 8 o’clock on January 6th: Affected by strong cold air from Northern China, it is expected that temperatures will decline by 8 to 10 degrees Celsius over 48 hours. The lowest will be seen on the morning of January 8, reaching minus 6 degrees in urban areas and minus 9 to minus 7 in suburban areas.

The center advised the public to take precautions against the cold weather and strong wind, such as wearing more when going out, closing windows when staying at home and strengthening warming measures of agricultural greenhouses and sheds.
